分享
Hi everyone, I am Franky @_@. Today I would like to introduce the heritage food call Poon Choi, which also known as pun choi or Big Bowl Feast, is a traditional type of food originated from Hakka cuisine.

Poon Choi was invented during the late Song Dynasty of China. When Mongol troops invaded Song China, the young Emperor fled to the area around Guangdong Province and Hong Kong. To serve the Emperor as well as his army, the locals collected all their best food available, cooked it, and because there were not enough dishes, put the resulting dish in wooden washing basins. By doing so Poon Choi was invented

It is includes ingredients such as pork, beef, lamb, chicken, duck, abalone, ginseng, shark fin, fish maw, prawn, crab, dried mushroom, fishballs, squid, dried eel, dried , pigskin and Chinese radish.

Poon Choi also is cultural aspect in Chinese; it is often served during religious rituals, festivals such as in Chinese New Year, special occasions and wedding banquets in open area of villages. Nowadays in Hong Kong is very easy to find it in restaurant. If have the opportunity in future, I will share some restaurant, which are make the better taste of Poon Choi.
